Custom Over-sized Barn Door

Our clients wanted to create some additional privacy in their new home between their master bedroom and master bathroom. Most barn doors are made for standard sized openings so we had to make something custom. We fabricated and shaped every piece. The rails (top and bottom pieces) are mortised into tenons on the stiles (the side pieces). And we shaped each of the panels with a tongue and groove so that all the panels lock into each other as well as into the rails and stiles—a more traditional approach to crafting doors. Our clients were elated with the design and happy to have added privacy.
